9 | Grasping

The Buddha says grasping is fourfold: grasping at sensual pleasure, grasping at wrong views, grasping to the obviously external and grasping at self-existence and lasting soul-entity. Grasping is tenacious and rejects reason and logic. It is the root of suffering and the world is a slave to it. The Self is an illusion, a mirage and avariciously grasping at it will always lead to disappointment, sadness and suffering.
